RE: Sessions
Based on the first two sessions I went to, I almost walked out of the
conference. In the first session, there was too much information, the
topic was too broad, to come to any conclusions. The second session I
went to, the discussion leader never showed. Thankfully, I stayed for
the last two sessions and the conference seemed to gel and work. But
it took three sessions for something to happen. Since the sessions
were only 40 minutes in length it didn’t make sense to move. I kept
hoping something would work.
Next time, do not plan a session without a discussion leader. If the
person that suggested the discussion doesn’t show - the session will
probably not work.

2nd Breakout Sessions
@emkampa The non-profit volunteer participation session covered how our non-profits use social media to recruit volunteers and the obstacles that are encountered. We also talked about “social media burnout” for non-profit employees who are tasked with managing such channels.
Peter Fleck @pfhyper with the Seward neighborhood of Minneapolis is now speaking about crowd sourcing and information infrastructure.
Bud Fischer from Advocate Interactive is speaking about using social media for social change.
